Ritchie Bros. had a need to consolidate its annual planning process across its 110 offices in 25 countries and walk away from their spreadsheet-based intermediate planning “tool”. The new tool was supposed to provide iterative plan reconciliation - top-down and bottom-up. The first release of the system had to be analyzed, designed and developed and promoted to production in under 6 months in order to be ready for the next annual planning period.
Evident Point's team decided to use the "Seam" platform in order to provide reach application fast that would accommodate complex and iterative workflow where reconciliation path can change direction at will.
Ritchie Bros. managed to use the first release of the system for its 2008 annual planning campaign, which allowed the company to save.
